Racing Incident Report

JOYFUL UNION and FORTUNE BOOTH were slow to begin.
From wide barriers, ENCORE BOY and SUNSET WATCH were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After being disappointed for running between ENCORE BOY and WALDORF soon after straightening, JOYFUL UNION was shifted to the outside of ENCORE BOY approaching the 200 Metres to improve.
After leaving the 200 Metres, ENCORE BOY and WALDORF raced tight and near the 150 Metres ENCORE BOY was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of SPARKLING DRAGON when shifting to the outside of that horse to obtain clear running.
Throughout the race, MR LUMIERES travelled wide and without cover.
After the race, C Y Ho stated that INVINCIBLE MISSILE did not travel well in the early stages and became somewhat detached from the field in the early part of the Back Straight. He said he was required to ride the horse quite hard to make up lost ground, however, INVINCIBLE MISSILE did not initially respond and was not able to keep pace with the field. He said after being brought to the outside in the Straight and placed under full pressure, INVINCIBLE MISSILE finished off only fairly and was disappointing. A veterinary inspection of INVINCIBLE MISSILE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
AMAZING STAR and WALDORF were sent for sampling.
