Racing Incident Report

ESCAPE ROUTE and EXUBERANT began only fairly.
SMART IDEA shifted out at the start and bumped STORMTROUPER. STORMTROUPER was then steadied to obtain cover.
Also from the outside barrier, SUNSET WATCH was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
Approaching the 1000 Metres, SMART IDEA was shifted to the inside of HAPPY SHARING in an attempt to improve inside that horse. SMART IDEA was then steadied away from the heels of HAPPY SHARING near the 950 Metres after HAPPY SHARING was steadied away from the heels of YO BEAUTY which shifted in.
MAGIC PHOENIX got its head up when travelling keenly and awkwardly placed outside the heels of HAPPY SHARING passing the 1000 Metres.
Making the turn after the 1000 Metres, SCOTCH TYCOON was left racing wide and without cover and was then steadied for some distance in an attempt to obtain a trailing position behind STORMTROUPER. SCOTCH TYCOON then shifted in near the 900 Metres and bumped STORMTROUPER.
After the 900 Metres, EXUBERANT commenced to race ungenerously and got its head up for some distance. EXUBERANT continued to travel keenly and near the 700 Metres shifted out and inconvenienced SUNSET WATCH which was racing close to the heels of SCOTCH TYCOON which for the majority of the race travelled wide and without cover. Then making the turn after the 600 Metres, EXUBERANT raced tight inside SCOTCH TYCOON which shifted in before being directed back out to relieve the tightening. SUNSET WATCH, which was racing behind EXUBERANT, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse in consequence.
Passing the 200 Metres, STORMTROUPER shifted in and brushed MAGIC PHOENIX.
Close to the finishing line, EXUBERANT was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MAGIC PHOENIX.
After the race, J Moreira was not able to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of YO BEAUTY. He said he had to ride his mount along for some distance in the early stages to obtain a forward position as instructed. He said after shifting across to race outside the lead passing the 1000 Metres, YO BEAUTY travelled fairly, however, came under heavy pressure after the 500 Metres and then weakened out of the race in the Straight. A veterinary inspection of YO BEAUTY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
