Racing Incident Report

DESERT STAR was withdrawn on 9.9.23 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (heart irregularity). SINBA was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (blood abnormality). Before being allowed to race again, DESERT STAR will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination whilst SINBA will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
CALL ME DANDY jumped awkwardly.
Shortly after the start, SOLID SHALAA raced tight between AMAZING ACE which shifted out and COMPASSION SPIRIT which shifted in.
Approaching the 800 Metres, AMAZING ACE, which was inclined to race keenly, was steadied when crowded by PULSAR STRIDER (H Bowman). H Bowman was severely reprimanded. In assessing the action taken by the Stewards, they found that the racing manners of AMAZING ACE had contributed to the incident and were satisfied that H Bowman had made some effort to relieve the crowding to AMAZING ACE.
BEAUTY CRESCENT raced keenly in the middle stages.
When questioned regarding SUPREME LUCKY leading, Z Purton stated that as his mount has a tendency of being tardy at the start, he rode SUPREME LUCKY vigorously from the barriers. He said after commencing well, he elected to continue forward and cross to the front rather than risk being caught wide in the early stages.
After the race, L Hewitson (ACE ONE) stated that when he felt that there was something amiss with his mount in the Home Straight, he did not ride it out over the concluding stages. A veterinary inspection of ACE ONE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of ACE ONE was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, ACE ONE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Also after the race, H Bowman stated that after going forward from the outside barrier, PULSAR STRIDER failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and was disappointing. A veterinary inspection of PULSAR STRIDER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of AMAZING ACE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SUPREME LUCKY and COMPASSION SPIRIT were sent for sampling.
