3 6 PACKING PROSPECT (H424) Approaching the 200 Metres was steadied when disappointed for clear running between WINNING HEART and CHAMPION INSTINCT which shifted in slightly. Was then directed to the outside of CHAMPION INSTINCT where it secured clear running at the 150 Metres.
4 3 LIFELINE EXPRESS (H439) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
5 12 CRAZY TREASURE (J063) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
6 8 SOARING BRONCO (J162) Jumped awkwardly and was crowded shortly after the start.

8 11 HIGH RISE POWER (H353) Shifted in on jumping.
9 9 YEE CHEONG RAIDER (J176) Slow to begin and was bumped shortly after the start.
10 1 MASTER STROKE (J036) Shortly after the start was badly crowded by SOARING BRONCO which was taken in by HIGH RISE POWER.
11 5 FAIRY HORSE (J144) From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

13 7 SAVVY ELEGANCE (J068) Slow to begin and was bumped shortly after the start. In the middle stages raced keenly and for some distance after the 1000 Metres got its head up when being restrained away from PACKING PROSPECT.
14 2 SPEED SWORD (H397) The Stewards deferred the declaration of weighed-in whilst they considered an application from Trainer F C Lor that SPEED SWORD had been denied a fair start. After taking evidence from H Bowman and Mr A Speechley, the Starter, and after viewing the patrol films, it was established that SPEED SWORD became fractious in the barriers as the start was effected and as a result turned its head to the right and failed to jump with the field, losing significant ground. As the Stewards were satisfied that such occurrence had simultaneously occurred as the start was effected, SPEED SWORD was declared a runner. Trainer F C Lor was advised that SPEED SWORD will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial prior to its next race start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
