10 10 HOLY GRAIL (BP262) F Coetzee -- Went forward from wide barrier and after crossing to be 1 off fence near 1400 M steadied to be behind leaders. Did not respond in straight.
11 5 MICHAEL'S CHOICE (BM081) E Legrix -- Behind leaders after being crowded at 1400 M. Stayed same until straightening. Kept on early in straight but gave ground concluding stages. Rider had whip knocked from his hand at 250 M.
12 2 SMASHING PUMPKIN (BP173) W Woods -- Slow to begin losing considerable ground. Near rear throughout.
13 14 SUPREME BASES (BP217) K C Tsang TT Began well then was checked severely at 1400 M and dropped back to midfield. Maintained that position until 400 M when again crowded for room. Did not respond afterwards.
