2 9 FANTASTIC HORSE (CB314) B Prebble B Jumped well and raced in prominent position 2 wide. Went forward to join leader at home bend. Took lead after 400 M and ran on well but unable to fend off challenge from winner to be overhauled inside final 100 M.
3 8 ELITE WIN (CA300) C Williams B2 Began well from wide draw and soon eased to the back but closer to rail. Made steady improvement from the outside at home bend. Under pressure 350 M out and made up good ground inside final 200 M to grab 3rd place on the line.
4 12 JUSTINIAN (CB324) K T Yeung -- Broke fairly and soon raced in better than midfield 3 wide through to straight. Kept on well when asked 350 M out but was overpowered by 3rd placegetter near the line to settle for 4th place.
5 3 SHOW BRAVELY (CB388) G Schofield V Jumped fairly and niggled along to race in midfield 2 wide. Under pressure at latter part of home bend to maintain position. Made up little ground inside final 200 M to be closest at finish.
6 4 GLORIOUS RHYTHM (CC163) S Dye -- Slow to begin and raced in midfield or worse out wide without cover. Ridden along to go forward turning for home. No extra in straight and kept on evenly to the line. (After the horse was found to be distressed.)
7 11 IN THE MONEY (CB268) W C Marwing B1/TT On jumping bounded in the air and pushed along to race in midfield 3 wide. In the early stages proved difficult to settle. Unable to quicken in straight and stayed one-paced to the line.
8 10 KING OF SPADES (CC056) D Whyte -- Niggled along to race in worse than midfield 2 wide. Switched wide to find clear running on straightening. Crowded for room at 300 M and kept on evenly to the line thereafter.
9 1 ENGINEERING WONDER (CB300) M W Leung -- Jumped awkwardly and raced in rear section on rail. Switched out on straightening and made up little ground in early part of straight but became one-pace shortly after the 200 M mark.
10 14 LUCKY MASTER (CA335) H K Yim -- Soon settled in rear section around 2 wide. Shifted out to find running on straightening, unable to quicken when asked 400 M out and only ran past several beaten runners inside final 200 M.
11 13 FIRST KNIGHT (CB357) K H Ting B Unable to muster early speed to race in worse than midfield on fence. Ridden along at home bend to maintain position and switched out on straightening. Steadied at 300 M when disappointed for running and failed to quicken thereafter.
12 5 KING OF THE TURF (CC124) M Walker -- Jumped well and soon raced in midfield or better on rail. Under pressure to hold position turning for home. Found nothing in straight and steadily faded inside final 200 M.
13 6 STAMINA (CC119) Y T Cheng -- Broke fairly from wide draw and was soon eased to the rear section closer to rail through to straight. Made no impression in the straight.
14 2 GOOD PROSPERITY (CB396) P H Lo SR Jumped well and pushed along to take lead on rail through to straight. Soon headed after the 400 M and steadily dropped out inside final 200 M.
