2 8 WISE LOVER (CE095) Y T Cheng -- Checked at the start and trailed field early stages. Remained towards the back and was last few to enter home straight. Made a strong rally in the straight and just failed to catch winner.
3 1 PIONERO (CD402) D Whyte B Settled 3-wide at midfield. Rallied in the straight and was closest at finish.
4 6 DISGUISE (CG004) G Schofield -- 2-wide and no worse than midfield. Kept within 4Ls of the leader making home turn and stayed on well in the straight to make the frame.
5 3 LUCKY DRAGON (CD322) G Mosse TT 3-wide behind midfield. 2-wide making home turn. Improved steadily in the straight but ran into some traffic 300 M. Kept on well thereafter.
6 11 MR BEAUTIFUL (CB057) C K Tong -- Slow into stride and raced on fence in a rearward position. Towards the rear on straightening and closed the race off well.
7 13 TIMBER CITY (CC031) M W Leung B Hit the front at 1300 M. Took a sit at 800 M and kept within 2Ls of the leader in 2nd place making home turn. Kept chasing on straightening but weakened inside final 200 M.
8 9 RED WINE SUPREME (CE240) S Dye TT Botched the start but was niggled forward to be on fence at Midfield. Remained on the rails making the turn and was 5 to 6Ls down on straightening. Stayed on same pace in the straight.
9 4 TELECOM TYCOON (CC039) D Dunn V/TT Tightened at the start, found no speed and settled towards rear. Last to enter home straight and was carried wider on straightening. Made up some ground in the closing stages.
10 14 A BETTER DRAGON (CC329) K L Chui SR Outpaced early. Settled 3-wide in rear section middle stages. Wide making home turn and ran past a few beaten runners in the straight.
11 7 MAKE YOU JEALOUS (CE316) E Saint-Martin -- On fence and a length off the early leader at 1200 M. Better than midfield and 4Ls off the pace at home turn. Unable to quicken and faded final 200 M.
12 10 DANSKE VERY MUCH (CD394) A Delpech CP/H Jumped awkwardly and contended for the early lead. Settled 2-wide and 2 to 3Ls off the pace in 3rd place home turn. Lacked a response when asked and steadily dropped out in the straight.
13 12 THUNDER STORM (CA226) C Munce B/H Jumped well from widest draw and dropped to midfield. 3-wide making home turn and never picked up in the straight.
14 5 SHATIN WIN WIN (CE284) W M Lai -- Among leaders early. Better than midfield middle stages and 3-wide making the turn. Weakened on straightening.
