2 11 AMSTERDAM (CE140) A Delpech TT Average to begin, taken back behind field to settle last on rails, travelled well to turn, stuck to paint in straight and closed the race off strongly making up considerable ground.
3 12 LUCKY WINNER (CE124) C K Tong TT Bumped early and lost ground, ridden up to hold spot 3rd from rear 7L off lead 2 wide, made run 3 and 4 wide on turn between horses and closed strongly despite being badly checked at 200 M.
4 5 CARRIZO CREEK (CE132) E Saint-Martin B Fairly away, lacked early pace and settled rearward 4 back on fence 6L from front, had easy run through middle stages, made run between runners in straight and stuck to task well.
5 6 CONESTOGA (CE313) G Schofield -- Crowded early, ridden up to obtain close position, 2 wide 5L off lead throughout, tracked into race well 3 wide on turn and looked set to figure in finish before being inconvenienced in straight, good debut.
6 10 DRAGON AND GOLD (CD244) W M Lai -- Broke well, showed good early speed to take up running, raced in lead throughout at good clip, snuck 2L clear at 600 M, still in front until well into straight but tired late.
7 3 ALWAYS WELCOME (CC183) B Prebble V Showed good early speed from inside gate, restrained to take trail behind leader, had good run on rails thereafter, tracked well to turn, obtained split but didn't show enough dash to figure.
8 2 THE WORLD OF LOVE (CC066) C Brown -- Fast away, caught a little wide early, crossed to race outside leader 2L away, under pressure entering straight and weakened out of it over final 200 M.
9 7 FLYING SPRINTER (CD021) H K Yim B Best to begin, trapped wide and restrained from early speed battle when unable to cross, raced 3 wide without cover thereafter, niggled along to improve on turn, tried hard but couldn't sustain effort.
10 4 ROYAL DECREE (CE059) D Whyte B Broke with them, settled 3 back on fence 4L off lead, enjoyed good trip in middle section, not comfortable on turn and failed to finish the race off. (See Racing Incidents.)
11 8 PICTURE PERFECT (CD297) C Munce B- Away with them, taken in behind from awkward draw, raced 2nd last on fence 9L off lead, travelled well to turn, raced one-paced in straight making only a little ground.
12 9 GRAND COMMANDS (CD300) H W Lai SR Broke with them, hard ridden early, trapped wide from awkward draw, 3 wide with cover in middle section, under pressure on turn and weakened out of it.
