2 7 CAPITALAND (CE152) H K Yim -- Average to begin, showed no early speed and dropped to rear as usual, lobbed along at tail 9-10Ls from pace, still well back on turn, angled to outside and closed swiftly over the top of them to narrowly miss victory.
3 6 GALLANT FALCON (CD194) K T Yeung TT Away with them, showed more speed than usual to be prominent early, raced 3Ls back on rails in mid-section, had easy run to turn, gained split when they turned and improved steadily last 200 M to be right there on line.
4 2 FIGHTING MASCOT (CB426) K L Chui -- Broke well, amongst speed battle early but restrained to settle just off pace, raced 1 out 1 back 3Ls away in middle stages, enjoyed good trip to turn, pushed along into straight, lacked dash but closed race evenly to make frame.
5 4 KING OF FISH (CB105) H W Lai B First to break from wide alley, unable to go on with it and drifted back to midfield, raced 2 and 3-wide 5Ls away for most of journey (hanging), hard ridden with 4-wide run into race on turn, closed fairly after hard run.
6 12 SIXTY SECONDS (CB177) C W Wong -- Average to jump, faded back to worse than midfield on rails 6Ls away, used nothing in mid-section, still had job to do on turning, came with run between horses in straight to close race off fairly without threatening winner.
7 9 SURVEYOR (CC159) A Delpech -- Slowly into stride, showed no early toe, allowed to relax near enough to last 8Ls from lead, spent no petrol in run, still 8Ls away on turning, followed rails and did best work late to be closest at finish (trip too short).
8 5 EVERGREEN (CE106) B Prebble TT Fast into stride, held position on rails early, allowed to relax and finished up midfield 2-wide 4-5Ls away, raced a little tight to turn, swung 3-wide and came with run in straight but lacked dash to figure.
8 8 SUPER HONEY (CE187) D Whyte B Jumped with rest, pushed on early to take closer order, assumed spot outside leader (average tempo), relaxed well and had good trip, 1L away on turning, chased hard to be on terms at 200 M but weakened last 100 M.
10 3 LUCKY WINNER (CE124) C K Tong TT Fast into stride, drove through to take up running, raced 1L clear dictating terms in mid-race, still held 1L advantage on turning for home with rest chasing off bit, led until 150 M but unable to go on thereafter.
11 10 CHINSOLA (CD328) G Schofield B Average to begin, settled worse than midfield 2-wide 7Ls away, had easy run to turn, still well back entering straight, made run between runners in straight, no run last 150 M and was unable to be properly tested.
12 11 ROCKET WIN (CE249) C Munce SR/TT Standard to break, drifted back to rear from wide alley, raced 2-wide 8Ls from leaders in middle part, had field to beat on turning, failed to finish race off with normal dash and only plugged to line.
