14 JOY AND FUN (CH014) F Coetzee -- Began with them, slotted in behind the speed, had nice trail 2-wide 4-5Ls off pace, eased 3-wide on bend, picked up nicely when balanced up, made up plenty of ground to 200 M and went on for solid win.
11 VIKING TOR (CE207) B Prebble CP Jumped well, taken back from wide alley, angled into position on rails 5Ls away inside eventual winner, had easy time to bend, took dream split in straight to hit lead but couldn't hold off winner. Well clear of 3rd.
1 POCKET MONEY (CE253) D Whyte B Restrained from a wide alley, positioned at rear 3-wide 9-10Ls from front runners, always wide with cover to bend, well back making wide run entering straight, made up many lengths in the straight to snatch 3rd. Gave too big a start
13 WINE WIN (CG018) H W Lai B-/TT1 First to hit ground, pressed on to race first without cover, 2Ls off draw away leader, had to cart field up when leader went ahead on bend, stuck to task in straight gradually making ground but couldn't sprint with first few last 200 M.
12 SUPER SNIPPETS (CG217) A Delpech -- Started with line, faded back to race in rearward division, raced 3-wide 7-8Ls back with cover, switched 4 to 5-wide on bend, well back turning in, kept finding in straight and made up many lengths to be closest on line.
5 PERFECT FEELING (CH035) K L Chui -- Average to begin, ridden along to regather and hold spot 4Ls back on rails, not set a task in mid-section, tracked nicely on bend into clear and made short-lived run at 300 M but couldn't find extra gear and kept same pace to line.
2 CALIFORNIAMOUNTAIN (CG310) C K Tong TT Moderate break, showed speed thereafter to assume role behind leader, carted along by good speed in front, chased runaway leader on bend, under pressure turning in, couldn't keep on last 200 M and finished at same speed.
6 BULLDOZER (CG062) C W Wong B Jumped with them, showed plenty of dash to cross to lead, kept running at solid speed throughout, drew 4Ls clear on circle, held advantage to 250 M, didn't find when tackled at 200 M and weakened late when run ended. (See Incidents.)
4 FANTASY (CB187) M Nunes B Began well, allowed to slide back from a wide alley in search of cover, raced 2-wide 6Ls off pace, had easy trip thereafter, pushed along on bend, in some traffic turning in but didn't let down when clear and battled to line.
8 PACKING HERO (CG258) Y T Cheng -- Shade tardy to begin, settled worse than midfield on rails 8Ls from pace, not asked in run, well back and kept to rails on bend saving ground, made a little ground until held up but making little progress anyway. (Lame.)
10 COURAGEOUSHEART (CD202) K T Yeung B Jumped with field, didn't show any early toe, found spot near last 2-wide 9Ls away, never really comfortable in run and pushed along on bend, well back turning in and passed only tired horses in run to line.
9 THE GOODIES (CH097) S Dye -- Awkward into stride, soon settled at tail on rails 10Ls off pace, well back not working in mid-section, had field to pass on bend, kept to inside saving ground in straight, did not make impression in run home just holding ground to line.
7 ROMANTIC GREEN (CG123) E Saint-Martin B Away with rest, pressed on to take closer order, posted 3-wide without cover from awkward alley, always working hard 4Ls back wide to bend, struggling turning in, run ended at 250 M and only plugged away in finish.
3 SPLENDOUR GOLD (CG316) M W Leung B- Even break, had ridden to take up coveted 1 out 1 back spot, had reasonable run 4Ls back on bend, angled 3-wide turning in but immediately under pressure, stopped quickly in straight. (Blood in trachea and lame morning after.)
