3 DIM SUM (CH226) D Beadman V Came across to slot in for cover 2 wide 5Ls back, improved 3 wide approaching turn, let down too strongly to gain lead inside 200m and hold off rivals nicely.
2 SUNNY KING (CH105) G Mosse H Taken back as usual, right out of it from wide alley, best part of 10Ls away at tail, still well back turning, made continual progress through field and did a big job to snare 2nd.
9 RICH UNICORN (CL410) M Du Plessis -- Angled into a spot just off midfield 6Ls or so away, 2 wide throughout and tracked eventual winner turning, responded gamely in straight and finished well to figure in first 3.
10 LEADING CITY (CK298) J Lloyd H Began well, pressed on to sit outside leader, even speed however applied a bit of pressure to leader on bend, took over until tackled at 200m, lost a place late.
7 FINAL ANSWER (CL178) W C Marwing H/XB/TT Out in line, posted 3 wide with cover in midfield, even passage to turn 5ls or so back, came wide at 400m and made gradual progress to 100m when peaked.
4 JOY AND FUN (CH014) B Doyle CP Began with rest, settled 3-4Ls away on rails, easy time throughout, kept giving in straight to finish on heels of place getters.
1 ABLE ONE (CG108) O Doleuze H Went back from an awkward draw, raced 3 wide 7-8Ls back, had cover throughout, made steady progress down outside without threatening first 3 (see racing incidents).
12 AMIGO (CK358) W M Lai -- Taken back to race in rear division, 9ls back on rails, quiet time in mid section, angled out turning and kept coming in straight without showing dash to threaten.
11 VITAL FLYER (CK373) H W Lai TT Showed early speed to hold a position on leaders back, even run throughout, right there turning but didn’t quicken, no extra final 200m.
14 TAILWIND (M103) Y T Cheng B Positioned nicely in 1 out 1 back spot, enjoyed a good trip to turn, in a bit of traffic 400m but just whacked away when clear. (Muco.)
6 CERISE CHERRY (CL141) T Angland B Didn’t have early speed, behind midfield on rails 7Ls back settling, saved ground throughout, made some progress along inside in straight and ran out of room late although not threatening.
13 TUSCAN SPIRIT (CK055) C K Tong -- Taken back from an awkward draw, 9ls or so back racing 2 wide at rear, unable to make any serious impression in straight.
5 MULTIGLORY (CL168) M Chadwick TT Showed usual speed to take up front running role, set an even tempo in middle section, worried on bend and headed soon after, folded tamely in straight.
8 TAI SING YEH (CL037) Z Purton -- Began well enough, pressed on from outside alley but caught deep without cover, 2Ls away but still 3 wide on bend, faded after a hard trip.
