2 12 ALL IN MIND (D200) V Borges H/XB/TT Obtained good position racing on the leaders back. Stayed on rail on straightening, sprinted quickly to assume narrow lead at the 200m, caught by winner inside the last 75m before fighting on bravely in closing stages.
3 7 LUCKY EXPRESS (D026) J Moreira -- Crowded at start before mustering speed & improving to race midfield away from rail. Moved wider on cornering, made continual ground be close to lead at 200m before being outsprinted by winner. Raced greenly late. Good debut.
4 6 ARMANDO (D351) K Teetan -- Wasn't fast to begin & settled worse than midfield away from the rail. Shifted wider after straightening, made strong late ground final 300m before being inconvenienced near the 50m. Closed hard again near line. Good debut.
5 9 SEVEN HEAVENS (B089) M L Yeung TT Began well but was steadied & drifted back after the start to race just worse than midfield, wide with cover. Entered last section 5.5 lengths from lead before finishing off strongly in closing stages to not be far behind.
6 3 LUCKY MORE (D035) Z Purton -- Strode forward after start & obtained good position 1,1. Travelled strongly entering last, dashed up to share the lead near the 200m before laying in under pressure in final furlong when yielding a few lengths late.
7 8 PRECIOUS EXPRESS (C126) H W Lai -- Bumped at start before being steadied & shifting back to last. Continued a clear last on cornering, entered last section nearly 9 lengths form lead before finishing off well to midfield in closing stages from poor position.
8 1 STRONGER (D142) C L Chau CP Ridden forward from gate 11 to shift across & race outside the leader. Moved up to narrow lead passing the 300m before being headed soon after & weakening out in final furlong.
9 2 CALIFORNIA WHIP (A114) A Hamelin B/H/TT Drifted back after the start & was relegated to second last near the 900m. Continued near the rear entering last section when nearly 9 lengths from the lead before passing a few tiring runners in closing stages. No threat.
10 13 BALTIC SUCCESS (C373) M F Poon TT Showed good speed when ridden forward after the start to lead. Joined in the lead passing the 300m before weakening out in the final furlong to be well beaten.
11 4 HIGHLY PROACTIVE (C458) C Y Ho H/P1/TT Improved position after the start to race in midfield, three wide with cover throughout. Moved wider just prior to straightening before yielding a further 3L in last section to be well beaten.
12 10 SPEED VISION (B211) C Wong B/TT Improved after the start but was left racing three wide without cover in midfield throughout. Began yielding ground when continuing wide passage around the home bend before weakening out sharply in straight.
13 14 YOO YOO KING (C399) H N Wong -- Steadied away from heals after the start before shifting behind runners to race near the tail. Stayed close to the inside on cornering but weakened out further in the final 300m to be beaten a long way.
14 11 TEAM SPIRIT (B230) K H Chan B/TT Bumped & unbalanced at start consequently losing ground & racing near the rear. Continued at the tail, 9 lengths from the lead entering last section before weakening out significantly in the straight. Beaten a huge margin.
