Background:
Dylan Mo undertook his overseas training in South Africa and then New Zealand. His first port of call was the South African Jockey Academy in Durban, which he entered in May, 2013. He had his first race ride that December and notched five winners from 174 rides before transferring to New Zealand in December, 2014. Mo was based with the New Plymouth trainer Allan Sharrock, who also hosted former apprentice Kei Chiong. Mo’s first win came aboard Fish N’ Chips on 1 January, 2017. He notched 24 wins in his first season in Hong Kong. The young rider showed solid progress in his second season, notching 25 wins before his season was cut short due to injuries sustained in a barrier trial fall in late March, 2018. He matched that tally of 25 in the 2018/19 season and has added a further 35 wins since then.
