| Background: Luke Morris has over 2,000 wins in Great Britain and in 2022 he was chosen as the recipient of the special “Lester Piggott Honorary Award”, owing to his success with Alpinista, winner of that year’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in France. Morris has ridden in the United States, Canada, the United Arab Emirates and Japan, too. He was born in Oxford but grew up in Newmarket, hailing from a racing family with his grandfather, uncle and cousin all becoming jockeys. His first Group race win came in the 2010 G3 Ballyogan Stakes before winning his maiden Group 1 on the same horse, Glit Edge Girl, in the Prix de l’Abbaye de Longchamp. He is best known for his string of Group 1 wins on mares Marsha and Alpinista – both trained by Sir Mark Prescott. |
