Racing Incident Report

When the gates opened, BOLD'N POWER, which had been restless in the boxes, bounded in the air and as a consequence lost considerable ground. On jumping, JAMIESON shifted out, causing some interference to FLIGHT OF FANCY. Just after the start, SUPERIOR DOLLAR dipped. In the run to the winning post, ALWAYS ON had a tendency to shift ground outwards, because of this W C Marwing changed the whip into his left hand. R Fradd (FORTUNE REACHING) explained in the middle stages the horse hung out and was further inconvenienced by HOT POT which shifted ground on his inside. He also pointed out in the middle stages the saddle on FORTUNE REACHING shifted back, this placed him at a considerable disadvantage and he was not able to ride FORTUNE REACHING out over the concluding stages as he normally would. D O'Neill (SING SING SING) explained the horse, which was having its first race start today, was slowly away and then was crowded slightly shortly after the start, was reluctant to hold its position and got well back. He went on to say SING SING SING raced greenly and in the Straight although making ground hung in and proved difficult for him to ride out in his normal fashion. MERRY MERRY was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
