Racing Incident Report
Whilst parading, TEKON PERFECT became fractious, shifted a plate, then stood on a loosened nail. Acting on veterinary advice, TEKON PERFECT was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. On leaving the Parade Ring, F Coetzee was dislodged from INDUBITABLY BLISS. INDUBITABLY BLISS left the gates awkwardly, shifted out towards TWINKLING STAR. After the 400 Metres, CLASSIC RIZZI, which was giving ground, was slightly inconvenienced when GOLCONDA shifted in away from INDUBITABLY BLISS. D Whyte (TWINKLING STAR) said the horse worked to the post nicely and before the race he was told by the connections that they expected it would run well. He said however TWINKLING STAR travelled only satisfactorily for the first 200 Metres and near the 600 Metres was well beaten. He said in his opinion TWINKLING STAR was not stretching out as it should and he was of the view there was something amiss with it. TWINKLING STAR was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that TWINKLING STAR was showing signs of being slightly lame in its near side hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, TWINKLING STAR will be required to pass an official veterinary examination.
