Racing Incident Report
On the way to the Start, E Saint-Martin was dislodged from ALLEZ ALLEZ. Acting on veterinary advice, the horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. After arriving at the post, OREADS was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who discussed the horse's condition with the rider and then it was decided that OREADS was suitable to race. ACCURACY jumped very awkwardly, shifted in and bumped PROFITEER which was crowded onto HONEST DRAGON and checked. RARE COLLECTION missed the start. BRILLIANT jumped awkwardly with its head up, then rounding the Home Turn and in the Straight hung out. CLASSIC CHOICE was slowly away, shifted out and brushed the hindquarters of SKYSTONE. In the early stages, CLASSIC CHOICE had a tendency to get its head up and lay out, then near the 800 Metres became badly unbalanced behind SKYSTONE and shifted out abruptly away from the running rail. As a consequence of this, BRILLIANT and PROFITEER were checked rather severely and ACCURACY was inconvenienced. Near the 100 Metres, CLASSIC CHOICE was steadied and shifted ground when disappointed for running between BUSTER and GET IT EASY, both of which shifted some ground. As a consequence of this, CLASSIC CHOICE was not ridden hard right to the line. In the early stages, HANDSOME FORTUNE proved difficult to settle and raced with its head in the air, rounding the first turn hung out, this caused some inconvenience to HONEST DRAGON. Then approaching and rounding the Home Turn, HANDSOME FORTUNE hung out badly, this caused further convenience to HONEST DRAGON. In the early part of the Straight, A Starke (BRILLIANT) dropped his whip. For a short distance near the 200 Metres, SKYSTONE was held up in a pocket behind KING OF TOYS and tight inside BUSTER, then after this SKYSTONE continued to be awkwardly placed behind KING OF TOYS and tight inside BUSTER. After the race, it was reported that BUSTER was bleeding from both nostrils. HANDSOME FORTUNE was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
