Racing Incident Report

When the gates opened, BOBO DUCK bounded in the air. LOTUS SUPREME made the first turn awkwardly, got its head up and shifted out onto the hindquarters of BRILLIANT ATTORNEY. D Bonilla (HIN YUEN'S UNICORN) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding. The careless riding being that near the 600 Metres, he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of BRILLIANT ATTORNEY. As a consequence of this, that horse shifted in, crowded LOTUS SUPREME which was checked and IDEAL PARTNER which was following was severely checked. After taking into account all the circumstances involved, it was decided the appropriate penalty was that D Bonilla be suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Thursday, 15 February 2001 on which day he may resume race riding. The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after Sunday, 4 February 2001.
