Racing Incident Report

Due to a misunderstanding at declaration time, it was not made public that E Saint-Martin, the declared rider for PERFECT SHADOW, would probably be two pounds overweight. The notification was made yesterday. Whilst in the Parade Ring, TEKON PERFECT made contact with an outside rail. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who was unable to find any abnormalities. He discussed the situation with W M Lai and it was then decided that TEKON PERFECT was suitable to race. SUPER RED WINE and KIN FORTUNE were slowly away. SOUTH CHINA NINETY left the gates very awkwardly. MR PRESIDENT, which was not standing well, also jumped awkwardly, bumped the inside of its gate, then just after the start bumped the hindquarters of TEKON PERFECT. When the gates opened, SECOND OPINION went down behind, then came out awkwardly. In the run to the winning post, CLASSIC MASTER hung out and proved somewhat difficult to ride right out.
