Racing Incident Report
SMART MONEY left the gates awkwardly, just after the start bumped with STAR DRAGON, then shifted in and bumped ROMANTIC VENTURE. For a short distance just after the start, PRETTY BABY and RECOGNITION raced tight inside HOLE IN ONE which was being ridden along to go to the front. Near the winning post the first time, ROMANTIC VENTURE was steadied when disappointed for running between MELROSE STAR and INDIAN TAIPAN. Turning out of the Straight the first time, RECOGNITION and PRETTY BABY raced tight just inside the heels of STAR DRAGON. HONEST STEED, which had drawn a difficult gate, was obliged to race wide throughout and without any cover, in addition to this at about the 600 Metres was inconvenienced when GUESS WHAT shifted out slightly. In the early part of the Home Turn, ELITE had a tendency to hang out away from HOLE IN ONE. Near the 200 Metres, INDIAN TAIPAN became unbalanced when awkward on the heels of PRETTY BABY which momentarily shifted out. About 100 Metres from the line, ELITE momentarily shifted out slightly. STAR DRAGON was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
