Racing Incident Report
After arriving at the barriers, A Marcus (NAMJONG SUCCESS) reported to the Veterinary Surgeon that he was concerned with the action of the horse. The horse was trotted up at the request of the Veterinary Surgeon, at the conclusion of his examination he could find no abnormalities and after further consultation with A Marcus it was decided NAMJONG SUCCESS was suitable to race. EASY STAR jumped awkwardly, was further inconvenienced when crowded between NOBLE CHARGE and NAMJONG SUCCESS which on jumping shifted in. SOLO jumped very awkwardly with its head up and shifted out. On jumping, TRAVELLER STAR was severely checked when tightened between WELL EXPRESS which jumped awkwardly and shifted in slightly away from COSMO ONE and AFFAIRE D'AMOUR which was taken out by SOLO. The occurrence was accidental. In the early and middle stages, TRAVELLER STAR raced wide without any cover and pulled. Near the 600 Metres, NAMJONG SUCCESS brushed the running rail. J Egan (CHARMING SUCCESS) said the horse, which was having its first run from a rest today, had drawn the inside and the Trainer had instructed him to make use of the good gate and go forward. He said he realized he was probably making a little bit more use of CHARMING SUCCESS than was advisable and as MUNDAHISH was racing slightly in front on his outside and was hanging in, he felt he had little option but to hold his position inside that runner. J Egan concluded by saying that over the latter stages CHARMING SUCCESS did get very tired and on pulling up was blowing. EASY STAR was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
