Racing Incident Report

NAMJONG SPIRIT jumped very awkwardly with its head up, shifted in and bumped HIGH FIVE which was crowded onto JAMIESON and checked. After this incident, HIGH FIVE raced greenly and made the first turn awkwardly. BASIC INSTINCT missed the start badly. On jumping, MR BASKETBALL threw its head about. In the early stages, PRISTINE proved very difficult to settle and raced with its head up. Also in the early stages, JIMMY THE GREEK had a tendency to over-race. D Whyte (I DELIVER) said in the middle stages he felt I DELIVER had been galloped on behind. After this incident, I DELIVER did not finish its race off as he hoped. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon said I DELIVER had sustained multiple abrasions to its off side hind cannon. After the 200 Metres, F Coetzee (NAMJONG SPIRIT) dropped his whip. Near the winning post, MUNDAHISH was steadied and shifted out to avoid the hindquarters of STRONGHEART. W Woods (MR HAPPY) said on pulling up the horse was in his opinion sore behind. MR HAPPY was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said he was unable to detect any abnormalities. I DELIVER was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
