Racing Incident Report

ROUND THE WORLD began very awkwardly, got its head up and lost significant ground. From wide gates, NEW PLANET and TREMENDOUS WAY were steadied and shifted across behind the field to race near the rail. Shortly after the start, HIGH HILL FOREST was bumped by VICTORY DRUM which shifted in. At the 1500 Metres, CYBER GULCH became unbalanced and bumped the running rail when being steadied away from the hindquarters of MULTIZEN. Some inconvenience was caused to NEW PLANET and HIGH HILL FOREST as a result. At the 500 Metres and again on straightening, HIGH HILL FOREST was bumped by NEW PLANET which shifted out. Prior to straightening, ROUND THE WORLD was steadied when tight between MALAYAN PEARL and MULTIZEN. Shortly after straightening, MULTIZEN shifted out in an endeavour to find running between FAT CHOY TOGETHER and THE RICH MAN. MULTIZEN was steadied when disappointed for this run as THE RICH MAN which was racing to its outside held its ground. For some distance after straightening, CYBER GULCH and STRATEGIC MOVE were unable to obtain clear running. After the 100 Metres, SPECIFIC SORCEROR was hampered and carried wider by STRATEGIC MOVE which itself was carried out by EXPLOSIVE POWER (F Coetzee) which shifted out to avoid the heels of ROUND THE WORLD which shifted in when barely clear. In the circumstances, F Coetzee was advised to exercise more care. MULTIZEN was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that MULTIZEN was lame in its near side front leg. Before racing again, MULTIZEN will be required to pass an official veterinary examination.
