Racing Incident Report

WINNING PLEASURE jumped awkwardly with its head up, shifted out and bumped SIROCCO. On jumping, FRUITFUL TRIP threw its head about, did not show any early pace and got well back. From a difficult gate, in the early stages TEMMOKU was obliged to race very wide without any cover and in addition to this had a tendency to hang in. In the middle stages, PROFIT DAY had a tendency to lay out. About the 100 Metres, WONDERFUL WINNERS, which was taken in by FRENCH CONNECTION (K H Ting), made contact with DANCING SOUND. K H Ting was told in similar circumstances he must stop riding and straighten much sooner than he did tonight. About 100 Metres out, W C Marwing (WONDERFUL WINNERS) dropped his whip. Throughout the race, WINNING PLEASURE hung out and proved very difficult to ride out. Mr D Oughton, trainer of WINNING PLEASURE, was told if the horse performs similarly again, action will be taken against it. SIROCCO and PROFIT DAY were sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing. After the race, it was noted DANCING SOUND was making a respiratory noise. An endoscopic examination revealed some displacement of the soft palate. The Veterinary Surgeon said that a surgery may help to alleviate this condition.
