Racing Incident Report
For some distance after the 800 Metres, EXPRESS LOT was awkwardly placed close to the heels of TAMBORA STAR. About the 400 Metres, TAMBORA STAR (Apprentice S K Sit) improved inside HONEST DRAGON which was hanging out slightly and giving ground. When TAMBORA STAR improved, in the opinion of the Stewards there was barely sufficient racing room and as a consequence of it going forward at this stage, HONEST DRAGON was carried onto the heels of BRAVO VICTORY and checked. It was decided not to take any direct action, but Apprentice S K Sit was severely reprimanded and told this type of riding simply cannot be condoned again and he must always ensure he has sufficient racing room before endeavouring to improve his position. In the early part of the Straight, FAIR LADY was momentarily held up. VICTORY MOUNT was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
