Racing Incident Report
JUMBO LUCK was withdrawn on 28.5.02 on veterinary grounds (sore off fore fetlock) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter EN RAPPORT (C Williams). Before being permitted to race again, JUMBO LUCK will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. When the gates opened, EN RAPPORT bounded in the air, landed very awkwardly and threw its head about. Approaching and rounding the Home Turn, PRIDE AND FORTUNE hung out. B Fayd'herbe (STAR OF WAH YAN) said from a draw towards the middle, his intention was to try and ride the horse towards the front. He said he rode along hard to try and maintain a position, the horses which were drawn to his inside were quicker and also those on his outside found much more speed in the early stages than did STAR OF WAH YAN. He said despite the hard riding he gave STAR OF WAH YAN, the horse did not respond as he hoped it would. PLATINUM EXPRESS and STAR OF WAH YAN were sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing. After the race, it was noted PRETTY BABY had lost its near side front plate.
