Racing Incident Report

On jumping, NOT GUILTY shifted out and bumped CONSENSUS which in turn shifted ground and bumped KINGDOM OF GOLD. JADE RUYI left the gates awkwardly. Just after straightening, EXCELLENCE FOREVER and CONSENSUS came together. Just after the 400 Metres, PEARL AND GOLD was steadied and shifted out to avoid NAMJONG HEART, then about the 200 Metres was severely checked when disappointed for running inside CHINA WORLD which was stopping. C Williams (CONSENSUS) acknowledged he is not as strong a whip rider with his left hand as he is with his right. He said in the early part of the Straight, he hit CONSENSUS with the whip in the right hand, the horse did not respond as he expected and he thought changing the whip to his left hand might assist in encouraging CONSENSUS to finish the race off strongly. He concluded by saying CONSENSUS did seem to race better when he hit it with the whip in his left hand. D Dunn (PERFECT MOMENT) said the horse had run well at its previous start, its work since then had been satisfactory and although up in class it was thought PERFECT MOMENT would be competitive over the 2200 Metres of tonight's race. He said he enjoyed a good run throughout, but PERFECT MOMENT was beaten a long way from the line and was generally speaking in his opinion very disappointing. TWEET and PERFECT MOMENT were sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
