Racing Incident Report
FRAME'S PEOPLE was withdrawn on 2.9.02 on veterinary grounds (sore lower part of left front leg) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter EPIC EXPRESSION (E Legrix). Before racing again, FRAME'S PEOPLE will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. TELECOM BABE jumped very awkwardly, threw its head about, shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of MONEY WINS. On jumping, NON SEQUITUR was checked when crowded for room between FRENCH CONNECTION and ME AND YOU, both of which shifted ground. Near the winning post the first time, NON SEQUITUR was checked when crowded for room between HAPPY CHAMP and ME AND YOU which was taken in by MONEY WINS which in turn shifted ground to avoid LASER PRIDE (S K Sit) which itself was shifting in. It was decided not to take any direct action, however, S K Sit was severely reprimanded and told he will have to exercise far more care. When NON SEQUITUR checked near the winning post the first time, inconvenience was caused to HAPPY FORTUNE. Turning out of the Straight the first time, DIAMOND AND GOLD was momentarily crowded when FRENCH CONNECTION shifted in slightly away from LONGMARK. In the circumstances, no action was taken. After the 600 Metres, DOLBRIDGE brushed the running rail when momentarily crowded by MONEY WINS which was racing tight inside LASER PRIDE which was giving ground. DOLBRIDGE, FRENCH CONNECTION and MONEY WINS were sent for sampling. LASER PRIDE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon said LASER PRIDE was displaying a heart irregularity. Before LASER PRIDE can race again, it will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and must pass an official veterinary examination.
