Racing Incident Report
GOOD PROSPERITY left the gates awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of THE MOST DAUNTLESS. FORTUNE LAD and NATURAL ECHO were slowly away. On jumping, HAPPY YEARS and BACCHUS came together. Whilst the Stewards considered the riding of A Marcus (HAPPY WINNING) in the run to the line did not affect the horse's finishing position and accordingly a breach of Rule 100(2) did not occur, they did however consider it necessary to advise A Marcus he should ride all mounts out at least hands and heels to the end of the race whenever possible. BACCHUS and STRONG SUN were sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. PERFECT SPORT was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. The post race examination of BACCHUS revealed the horse was coughing. An endoscopic examination revealed a significant amount of blood in the trachea. Before racing again, BACCHUS will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. The post race examinations of STRONG SUN and PERFECT SPORT were carried out. No abnormalities detected. HAPPY YEARS and GOOD PROSPERITY were sent for sampling.
