Racing Incident Report
Before being presented in the Parade Ring, GETMORE DANCER had its right front plate refitted. After the race, it was noted that GETMORE DANCER had spread its right front plate. On the way to the track, SALUT BEAUTE shifted ground and made contact with a rail. On arriving at the Start, SALUT BEAUTE was trotted up and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion the horse was suitable to race. After being boxed, LITTLE ELEPHANT became fractious and momentarily had its left front leg caught over the top of the starting gate. Before LITTLE ELEPHANT can race again, it must perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. SALUT BEAUTE came from the gates awkwardly and bumped the inside of its starting stall. Near the winning post, FAVOURITE EXPRESS shifted out towards LITTLE ELEPHANT. D Dunn (ORIENTAL PEARL) explained the horse had led and won first up and the intention that day had been to find a position off the lead if possible. He said again today he was asked if he could to ride ORIENTAL PEARL behind a leader, accordingly in the early stages he allowed COMPANION to go forward and cross him and took up a position behind that horse on the rail. He did go on to say he shifted into the clear in the early part of the Straight to allow ample time to run past EVER SUCCESS, but ORIENTAL PEARL did not quicken as he thought it would and finished the race off somewhat one paced. LITTLE ELEPHANT, EVER SUCCESS and ORIENTAL PEARL were sent for sampling.
