Racing Incident Report

CLEAR MASTER, first Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 19.11.02 on veterinary grounds (lame left fore). Before CLEAR MASTER can race again, it will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. WINMARK left the gates awkwardly with its head up, shifted in abruptly and bumped the hindquarters of TIM'S TONIC which had missed the start. As a consequence of this, WINMARK lost a lot of ground. Then on straightening, WINMARK was checked severely and shifted out to avoid CLASSIC SYMPHONY which was giving ground. The occurrence was accidental. When the gates opened, HOWSON bounded in the air, shifted out abruptly and was checked away from the hindquarters of WINNING WAYS which was slowly away. From a difficult gate, CLASSIC SYMPHONY was obliged to race wide, was not able to find any cover and over the concluding stages dropped out. Near the 1000 Metres, CRAIG'S HA HA was steadied when close to the heels of MILLENNIUM LEGEND which had eased up slightly in front. About the 600 Metres, HOWSON brushed the running rail. After the 600 Metres, FIGARO was unbalanced when awkwardly placed close to the hindquarters of INCREDIBLE. Just after straightening, CLASSIC SYMPHONY and BEST EVER came together. BUTTERFORD was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, BUTTERFORD was examined by the Veterinary Officer. No abnormalities were detected. HOWSON, WINMARK, MILLENNIUM LEGEND and SPEED WINNER were sent for sampling.
