Racing Incident Report

After being boxed, SUPER COMBINATION became fractious, lunged forward and broke open the front gates of its stall. Also after being boxed, FELICITY became fractious and reared. From a gate towards the outside, CZAR OF PRUSSIA was immediately steadied and shifted across behind runners. At the 1400 Metres, CZAR OF PRUSSIA was checked to avoid the heels of GOOD BOY after being carried out slightly by FELICITY. BELLAGIO, which was following, was checked in consequence. In the circumstances, no action was taken. At the 800 Metres, ENERGETIC PRINCE was steadied to avoid the heels of SONGS OF PRAISE which shifted in when only just clear. Some crowding was also caused to SINCERE AND FAITH and SUGAR AND SPICE. Near the 600 Metres, INDY'S GEM was steadied away from the heels of ACTIVE ACCOUNT. At the 500 Metres, INDY'S GEM was again steadied away from the heels of ACTIVE ACCOUNT and shifted out abruptly. For a short distance after straightening, SINCERE AND FAITH had difficulty obtaining clear running. To obtain running, SINCERE AND FAITH was steadied and shifted out across the heels of SONGS OF PRAISE. From the 200 Metres to the 100 Metres, WISHES was held up and unable to obtain clear running between SONGS OF PRAISE and SINCERE AND FAITH. FELICITY, SUPER COMBINATION and BELLAGIO were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted FELICITY was bleeding from the left nostril. An endoscopic examination revealed there was no significant blood in the trachea. The Veterinary Officer said in the circumstances FELICITY should not be reported as having bled.
