Racing Incident Report
SPOT ON was withdrawn on 28.2.03 on veterinary grounds (lame left fore suspensory) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter BULLSHOT (M Kinane). Before SPOT ON can race again, it will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. When MR HAPPY was presented to be weighed, the horse was reported to be walking short in front. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, trotted up and after the necessary consultations was deemed suitable to race. The right fore plate of GORGEOUS YEARS had to be refitted behind the barriers. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, trotted up and after the necessary consultations was passed suitable to race. This caused a delay to the start of the running of this race. RED LANCER and FLYING FAST were slow to begin. CAVIAR ONE began awkwardly and shifted out at the start. FOREVER CHARMING began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of MR HAPPY. Passing the 900 Metres, MR HAPPY, which improved to be racing tight inside EASTERN TYCOON, was steadied when that horse was taken in slightly by GORGEOUS YEARS. Approaching the 800 Metres, TIM'S TONIC got its head up when briefly crowded for room inside ENERGETIC PRINCE. At the 800 Metres, RED LANCER got its head up and shifted out when awkwardly placed on the heels of FOREVER CHARMING. SOUTHERN TREASURE, which was following RED LANCER, was inconvenienced as a consequence. FLYING FAST was inclined to lay out in the middle stages. Passing the 600 Metres, GORGEOUS YEARS and SOUTHERN TREASURE were hampered and taken wider when WINNING SEASON shifted out to improve its position. Rounding the Home Turn, GLASGOW KISS shifted out, resulting in FOREVER CHARMING, RED LANCER and WINNING SEASON being inconvenienced. EASTERN TYCOON, which finished towards the rear of the field, was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. A veterinary examination of EASTERN TYCOON following the race did not show any significant findings. AHEAD A HEAD and CAVIAR ONE were sent for sampling.
