Racing Incident Report

GRANDWAY SHUTTLE was withdrawn on 20.5.03 on veterinary grounds (swollen right fore cannon). Before GRANDWAY SHUTTLE can race again, it will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. After arriving at the Start, MARSHALL SPIRIT was examined by the Veterianry Surgeon. The horse was trotted up and after the necessary consultations was considered suitable to race. SUPER FAST, TANAHMERAH and MIRACLES were slow to begin. SALUT BEAUTE began awkwardly, shifted in and brushed CHATER JADE. Near the winning post, COOL SWING became unbalanced. S Dye (EVEN TILDEN) said despite being well beaten the horse in his opinion was not overly disappointing. He pointed out EVEN TILDEN's successes had been when racing in a weaker class than tonight's race. He said at this stage of its career it did not appear EVEN TILDEN was up to the class of tonight's race. EVEN TILDEN was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. A veterinary examination of EVEN TILDEN after the race did not show any significant findings. COOL SWING and GOLDEN FARM were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that CHATER JADE had bled from both nostrils.
