Racing Incident Report
AMOUR began awkwardly. PRINCE GOLF was slow to begin. On jumping, BRILLIANT and MYSTIC SPIRITS bumped. Also on jumping, ABLE EAGLE stumbled. For some distance approaching the 800 Metre turn, LEUNG'S FAVOURITE raced awkwardly, got its head up on a number of occasions and proved difficult to control. At the 800 Metres, AMOUR was crowded for room inside AMICABLE which was taken in by TIMBER CITY (D Dunn). The Stewards were satisfied D Dunn immediately attempted to relieve this pressure and therefore no action was taken. When AMICABLE was crowded, LATIN DANCER, which was following, shifted out to avoid its heels and this caused PRINCE GOLF to be steadied. Over the final 200 Metres, ABLE EAGLE was inclined to lay out. SALUT BEAUTE and ABLE EAGLE were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 9 June 2003) :
LATIN DANCER was yesterday morning examined at the stables of Trainer P Chapple-Hyam by the Senior Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was severely lame on the left fore leg. LATIN DANCER will be required to pass an official veterinary examination before racing again.
