Racing Incident Report

DANEHILL WARRIOR stumbled at the start and then was severely hampered by ABLE EAGLE which began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly. DON SEBASTIAN, which had drawn outside DANEHILL WARRIOR, was hampered in this incident. MADE TO FIGURE and INDUSTRIAL PRIDE were slow to begin. In the early stages, MASTER GIGOLO proved difficult to settle. On straightening, DANEHILL WARRIOR was disappointed for running between MADE TO FIGURE and ABLE EAGLE which was taken out slightly by CLASSA WIN. After this, DANEHILL WARRIOR hung out and proved difficult to ride. After the 400 Metres, LOYAL DEVOTION was steadied when crowded for room between CLASSA WIN and MASTER GIGOLO which momentarily shifted out. In the early part of the Straight, MIRACLES was unable to obtain clear running between INDUSTRIAL PRIDE and BEST FOR ALL. To obtain running at the 200 Metres, MIRACLES was shifted to the inside of BEST FOR ALL, then over the concluding stages again was steadied when racing close to the heels of INDUSTRIAL PRIDE. S Dye (WINTROW) said the intention had not been to lead, however, the horse began well, travelled into a forward position and when he realized he would be caught very wide without cover in a slowly run race, he elected to allow WINTROW to stride forward and cross to the lead on the fence. CLASSA WIN was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of CLASSA WIN after the race did not show any significant findings. TRIUMPHANT MASTER and INDUSTRIAL PRIDE were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported DANEHILL WARRIOR had lost its right hind plate and had sustained lacerations to the right hind heel and right fore pastern.
