Racing Incident Report

SMART WIN was slow to begin and then despite being ridden along failed to muster speed and got further back than is usual. SMART WIN then proved somewhat difficult to settle and after passing the winning post on the first occasion was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of VIPER CORP which shifted in slightly. ALWAYS ZIETEN and EL VIENTO, which had drawn the outside barriers, were immediately steadied on jumping and shifted across behind runners to a position at the rear but closer to the rail. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, BRAVISSIMO was shifted out away from the heels of VIPER CORP which was shifting out. Near the 1000 Metres, A BETTER DRAGON was steadied away from the heels of SMART WIN. After the 700 Metres, WINNING SUNSHINE, which was endeavouring to shift out, was bumped by PORT OF HOPE. BLACK CARBINE, which was following, was steadied in consequence. At the 500 Metres, RICARDO was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of BRAVISSIMO. Near the 200 Metres, EL VIENTO was steadied and shifted in when disappointed for running between BRAVISSIMO and RICARDO. Shortly after this, EL VIENTO was again steadied and shifted in across the heels of ALWAYS ZIETEN. EL VIENTO then did not obtain clear running in the run to the winning post and consequently was not tested. After the 100 Metres, ALWAYS ZIETEN shifted in and was checked away from the heels of BLACK CARBINE which shifted out. Also after the 100 Metres, A BETTER DRAGON was steadied and shifted to the outside of SMART WIN to continue going forward. WINNING SUNSHINE and VIPER CORP were sent for sampling.
