Racing Incident Report

BULLISH KID, second Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 2.2.04 by order of the Stewards (stable transfer). SMILEY WIN was slow to begin. BACK SEAT DRIVER was slow to begin and then was bumped by TOP OF THE CROWN which shifted in abruptly. On jumping, SUPERIOR TITLE and FAIRWAY FINDER bumped. TIM'S TONIC began awkwardly and got its head up. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, WATCH KING got its head up when being steadied while racing inside ASIA STAR. After the 1000 Metres, ASIA STAR, which was hanging in, was steadied to avoid the heels of QUEEN'S GLORY which was carried in slightly by PRETTY PRETTY. No action was taken. At the 900 Metres, SUPERIOR TITLE shifted in and made contact with the hindquarters of QUEEN'S GLORY. Approaching the 400 Metres, PRETTY PRETTY shifted out to a four wide position. When this happened, TOP OF THE CROWN was ridden along to improve on its inside and when doing so was carried in slightly as PRETTY PRETTY shifted back in. As a result of the shift from TOP OF THE CROWN, ASIA STAR lost its running and was checked. In the circumstances, no action was taken. Shortly after straightening, ASIA STAR was steadied and shifted in when disappointed for running between TIM'S TONIC and PRETTY PRETTY. After this, ASIA STAR hung in. SUPERIOR TITLE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, it was reported that SUPERIOR TITLE had bled from both nostrils. WATCH KING, FAIRWAY FINDER and HK ISLAND VICTORY were sent for sampling.
