Racing Incident Report
WINNING WAYS began awkwardly and lost ground. KASHMAC was slow to begin. TELECOM BABE began awkwardly, then was brushed by BEST EVER which shifted out. Shortly after the start, TELECOM BABE, which had been steadied to shift across behind runners, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of BEST EVER. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, PREMIER BURG, which was proving difficult to settle, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MR PRESIDENT. Near the 1300 Metres, TIME OF RED WINE shifted out and brushed UNIVERSAL GLORY. As a result of this, TIME OF RED WINE became unbalanced. Also near the 1300 Metres, PRETTY DOUBLE got its head up and shifted out when being steadied away from the heels of BEST EVER. Shortly after entering the Back Straight, TELECOM BABE, which was proving difficult to settle, shifted away from the rail and got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of MR PRESIDENT. Near the 600 Metres, KASHMAC, which had pulled its way into a narrow run on the inside of PREMIER BURG which had momentarily shifted out, was checked when PREMIER BURG shifted back in. No action was taken. After the 400 Metres, TELECOM BABE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of WE'RE BUDDIES. Near the 200 Metres, WINNING WAYS was steadied and shifted to the outside of PEARL AND GOLD to obtain clear running, then near the winning post got its head on the side and shifted in towards UNIVERSAL GLORY. Also near the 200 Metres, G Schofield (WE'RE BUDDIES) dropped his whip. Throughout the race, UNIVERSAL GLORY raced wide and without cover. MR PRESIDENT was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, MR PRESIDENT was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse had sustained a laceration to the right hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, MR PRESIDENT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BEST EVER and WE'RE BUDDIES were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported TELECOM BABE had lost its left front plate.
