Racing Incident Report
FORTUNE ALL TIMES began awkwardly and lost ground. RED BARON was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, when being restrained in an attempt to obtain cover, HAPPY YEARS got its head up. In the early stages, VITAL PATROL hung in. Making the turn near the 1000 Metres, FORTUNE ALL TIMES, which had been hard ridden to make up ground, was checked when crowded for room inside KING ERIE (D Whyte) which shifted in when awkwardly placed close to the heels of BEAMING RIVER which was being steadied in front of it. As the Stewards were satisfied D Whyte had turned his horse's head out in an attempt to relieve the crowding he was applying to FORTUNE ALL TIMES, no action was taken. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, MR GENKI got its head up and hung out. As a result of this, VITAL PATROL was carried wider. After this, VITAL PATROL raced wide and without cover for the remainder of the race. Near the 800 Metres, MR GENKI became unbalanced. Near the 400 Metres, MR GENKI was checked when crowded for room between VITAL PATROL which shifted in slightly and HAPPY YEARS which at this time had its head on the side and was inclined to lay out. No action was taken. Shortly after straightening, PRO JOY and BEAMING RIVER came together as BEAMING RIVER was shifted out to obtain clear running. Near the 100 Metres, KING ERIE momentarily had difficulty obtaining clear running between KID GALAXY which was giving ground and HONOURABLE. Almost right at the winning post, KID GALAXY was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of KING ERIE. HK ISLAND VICTORY, HONOURABLE and BEAMING RIVER were sent for sampling.
