Racing Incident Report
After arriving at the saddling stalls, SUPREME RABBIT, which had sustained a small wound to its left front pastern, was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. He said the horse was suitable to race. SUPREME RABBIT was slow to begin. HIMALAYA began awkwardly and shortly afterwards was steadied away from the heels of LANCETTIER. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, AMBITIOUS TYCOON and EQUATOR KID were momentarily crowded for room inside HEALTHY WEALTHY which got its head on the side and lay in. After the 700 Metres, EQUATOR KID was awkwardly placed inside the heels of HEALTHY WEALTHY. After the 400 Metres, HEALTHY WEALTHY was brushed on the hindquarters by AMBITIOUS TYCOON which was endeavouring to shift out into clear running. At the 300 Metres, SUPREME RABBIT was awkwardly placed close to the heels of EQUATOR KID. Near the 200 Metres, SUPREME RABBIT then shifted in away from the heels of EQUATOR KID and caused some crowding on its inside to HEALTHY WEALTHY and AMBITIOUS TYCOON. For the majority of the race, HEALTHY WEALTHY raced wide and without cover. R Fradd (DARWIN), 6th placegetter, pleaded guilty to a charge of having failed to ride his mount out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards. For this breach, R Fradd was fined $20,000 [Rule 100(2)]. HEALTHY WEALTHY was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of HEALTHY WEALTHY after the race did not show any significant findings. HIGH INTELLIGENT, EQUATOR KID and SUPREME RABBIT were sent for sampling.
