Racing Incident Report
SUPER LUCK began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped BRING US LUCK which on jumping shifted in. HANDBAG FORTUNE was slow to begin and shortly afterwards was further inconvenienced when crowded for room between ACE OF PACE which on jumping shifted out and SUGAR AND SWEET which shifted in after being bumped by SUPREME STAR which in turn was bumped by JET RISE. Shortly after this, SUGAR AND SWEET became unbalanced when crowded for room between ACE OF PACE and SUPREME STAR. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, GLORIOUS LIGHT was awkwardly placed inside BRING US LUCK which got its head on the side and shifted in. SUPREME STAR made the Home Turn awkwardly, shifted out and was steadied away from the heels of CHAMP DE UNION. BRING US LUCK was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of BRING US LUCK after the race did not show any significant findings. HANDBAG FORTUNE, GRAND COMMANDS and SUPREME STAR were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that ACE OF PACE had bled from both nostrils and was displaying signs of an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, ACE OF PACE will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 23 December 2004)
On return to the Sha Tin stables last night after racing, it was noted SUPREME STAR had blood present at both nostrils. An endoscopic examination showed the horse's trachea to be clean and SUPREME STAR is not deemed to have bled. Before being allowed to race again, SUPREME STAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
