Racing Incident Report
OKANAGAN began awkwardly. WIN AGAIN bounded in the air at the start and lost ground. After the 1300 Metres, DANSKE VERY MUCH, which was proving very difficult to settle, with the intention of being ridden quietly was bumped by SUPER CHARGE which was carried in by GOODWOOD which shifted ground when just clear. For some distance after this, DANSKE VERY MUCH continued to prove very difficult to settle and near the 1000 Metres was checked when crowded for room inside BEING FAMOUS (B Prebble) which momentarily shifted in when not clear. CIRCUIT KINGDOM, which was following DANSKE VERY MUCH, was steadied away from the heels of that horse. B Prebble was reprimanded and told to exercise more care. For some distance near the 1000 Metres, CROWNED GEM was inclined to get its head on the side and shift away from the running rail and near the 1000 Metres shifted out and was checked to avoid the heels of LASER GLORY. CROWNED GEM then continued to hang out, particularly making the turn at the 800 Metres. Passing the 400 Metres, CROWNED GEM was steadied and shifted towards the outside of PACIFIC VICTORY in an endeavour to find clear running. Shortly after this, PACIFIC VICTORY was carried out slightly by LASER GLORY, causing CROWNED GEM which had not established proper running to be disappointed for running between PACIFIC VICTORY and CIRCUIT KINGDOM. As a result, CROWNED GEM was severely checked. No action was taken. LIAOBUQI, which was following CROWNED GEM, was steadied and shifted out away from that horse. After passing the winning post, OKANAGAN broke down. CROWNED GEM, BEING FAMOUS and DILIGENT were sent for sampling.
