Racing Incident Report
WIN HUNTER, which was standing badly, began awkwardly. On jumping, MILLION CHASE was crowded for room between EXCELLENT BOY and CHOICE AND CHANCE, both of which shifted ground. Shortly after this, MILLION CHASE and CHOICE AND CHANCE were checked when crowded for room between EXCELLENT BOY which shifted further and GLORY YEARS which shifted out after being bumped by BUDDIES POWER. Shortly after the start, WIN HUNTER was steadied when crowded for room inside SUPERB (Apprentice H W Lai) which shifted in when not clear. Apprentice Lai was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care. For some distance after the start, SUPER BALL and FAIRPLAY raced tight and came together on a number of occasions. At the 900 Metres, SUPER BALL became unbalanced when close to the heels of FAIRPLAY. Near the 800 Metres, CHOICE AND CHANCE, which was proving difficult to settle, got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of MILLION CHASE. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, WIN HUNTER bumped the running rail when racing tight inside the heels of SUPER BALL which at this time got its head on the side and hung in. From a gate towards the outside, HIGHLAND DAWN raced wide and without cover throughout and making the turn at the 600 Metres was steadied away from the heels of GLORY YEARS after getting its head on the side and shifting in. Prior to straightening, BRILLIANT EXPRESS was momentarily steadied away from the heels of BUDDIES POWER which was giving ground. Also prior to straightening, CHOICE AND CHANCE was awkwardly placed inside EXCELLENT BOY. Near the 100 Metres, FAIRPLAY commenced to shift in. Because of this, M Rodd, its rider, stopped riding and straightened his mount. SUPER BALL was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. GLORY YEARS and BUDDIES POWER were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SUPER BALL, GLORY YEARS and BUDDIES POWER after the race did not show any significant findings. EXCELLENT BOY and MILLION CHASE were sent for sampling.
