Racing Incident Report

SEASONS KNACK was slow to begin. At the 1200 Metres, WADADELIGHT was checked when crowded for room inside BRILLIANT FLASH (C Brown) which at this time was being ridden along to maintain a position towards the inside of the heels of MY LUCK which shifted in when not quite clear. As there were circumstances surrounding the incident, no direct action was taken, however, C Brown was told he must at all times do his utmost to protect his fellow riders. Making the Home Turn, SEASONS KNACK was held up and unable to improve when racing behind THOUSAND WINS. In the Straight, LUCKY CORDELIA hung in. Throughout the race, SHINY RIBBON raced in a forward position, however, was three wide and without cover. SHINY RIBBON, LOTZATOW and DASHING THUNDER were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that ISLAND SPIRIT had sustained a laceration to the left hind fetlock. Before being allowed to race again, ISLAND SPIRIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
