Racing Incident Report
QUEST FOR LOVE, which was fractious in the stall, began awkwardly and lost ground. BRAVE COMMANDER began awkwardly and then was slow to muster speed. HONEST TREASURE began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped CHEERFUL HAPPINESS. HAWKIE STAR began awkwardly. Near the 800 Metres, HAWKIE STAR, which was proving difficult to settle, blundered when awkwardly placed close to the heels of PO ON GEM. After the 600 Metres, BRAVE COMMANDER was steadied when close to the heels of RACING SPIRIT. At the same time, CALCANDO was steadied away from the heels of HAWKIE STAR. Near the 300 Metres, CALCANDO, which was having difficulty obtaining clear running, shifted out and made contact with BRAVE COMMANDER. After this, CALCANDO became unbalanced and shifted in after being bumped by BRAVE COMMANDER which at this time was carried in slightly by LIVERBIRD. Throughout the race, ALL FIT raced wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. The performance of CHEERFUL HAPPINESS, which tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, CHEERFUL HAPPINESS will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. ALL FIT was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of ALL FIT after the race did not show any significant findings. THISTLE KING and FLORAL PEGASUS were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 10 October 2005)
ALL FIT, which performed poorly, was examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. ALL FIT was again examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D Cruz this morning. He said at this time he noted that both forelimbs of the horse were swollen. Before being allowed to race again, ALL FIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
