Racing Incident Report

FIRM OFFER and CHEERFUL MASTER were slow to begin. SANZIRO bumped the inside gate of its stall and lost ground. On jumping, ABLE CHOICE was crowded for room between SENSIBLE WAY and WINNING SUCCESS, both of which shifted ground. Near the 100 Metres, ABLE CHOICE was momentarily steadied when unable to continue improving between SANZIRO and GIANFANTI. Mr C S Shum, trainer of CHATEAU KING PRAWN, explained after the horse's last start which was in a fast run 1200 Metres he eased up on the horse in training. He said CHATEAU KING PRAWN had shown good overseas form when racing over the straight 1000 Metres and he believed the horse was better suited racing down the straight at Sha Tin than around a bend at this stage of its career. B Prebble (TIGER RIDGE) said shortly after the start his mount began to hang in and proved difficult for him to ride throughout the event. He said after the race TIGER RIDGE appeared to him to be short in its action in front. TIGER RIDGE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of TIGER RIDGE after the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, TIGER RIDGE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. WINNING SUCCESS, CHATEAU KING PRAWN and FIRM OFFER were sent for sampling.
