Racing Incident Report
PASSION, Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 11.11.05 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore). Before being allowed to race again, PASSION will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. DORDENMA was slow to begin. On jumping, LIVERBIRD and RIGHT CHOICE bumped. Shortly after the start, AWARD and DORDENMA were checked when crowded for room between CARRY THE MAGIC and TIMBER CITY which initially got its head on the side and shifted in away from BRAVE COMMANDER and then was carried in slightly further by that horse. In the circumstances, no action was taken. In the early stages, LIVERBIRD proved difficult to settle and after the 1000 Metres got its head up, became unbalanced and lost ground when momentarily crowded for room inside GOOD PARTNER which was awkwardly placed inside the heels of MASONIC TREASURE. When LIVERBIRD became unbalanced, inconvenience was also caused to TIMBER CITY which was racing to its inside and as a consequence lost ground. Approaching the turn at the 800 Metres, LUCKY DRAGON, which was proving difficult to settle, got its head up. After the 700 Metres, TIMBER CITY was hampered and carried wider as a result of being bumped by RIGHT CHOICE which got its head up and shifted out abruptly when being steadied away from the heels of CARRY THE MAGIC. On straightening, LIVERBIRD was steadied and shifted to the inside of MASONIC TREASURE. RIGHT CHOICE, which was following, was steadied in consequence. After this, LIVERBIRD was held up and unable to improve for a short distance between MASONIC TREASURE and CARRY THE MAGIC. Also on straightening, SMART CHAMPION, which was endeavouring to shift to the outside of FASTER FASTER, was crowded for room inside LUCKY DRAGON which held its line. LUCKY DRAGON became unbalanced behind. Passing the 300 Metres, AWARD was shifted in when unable to obtain clear running between GOOD PARTNER and LUCKY DRAGON. For some distance after the 200 Metres, DORDENMA was unable to obtain clear running behind BRAVE COMMANDER which was giving ground and inside FASTER FASTER. As a consequence, DORDENMA was not properly tested. Throughout the race, TELECOM TYCOON travelled wide and without cover. LIVERBIRD was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of LIVERBIRD after the race did not show any significant findings. LUCKY DRAGON, GOOD PARTNER and SMART CHAMPION were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported CARRY THE MAGIC had lost its left hind plate and RIGHT CHOICE had sustained an abrasion to the right front cannon.
