Racing Incident Report

FUN CRUISER, which was fractious in the stalls, was slow to begin and as a consequence got well back. LUCKY YEARS began awkwardly, causing O Chavez, its rider, to become unbalanced. KID GALAXY began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped SUPER CATCHER. In the early stages, SUPER CATCHER hung in and after passing the winning post on the first occasion shifted ground, causing some inconvenience to PREMIER BURG which as a result lost ground. Making the first turn, PLEASANT JOURNEY, which was being shifted across behind runners from its wide draw, got its head up, hung out and was steadied away from the heels of WISHING WELL which itself at this time was being steadied to obtain a position with cover. For some distance after this, PLEASANT JOURNEY proved difficult to settle. At the 1400 Metres, PREMIER BURG was steadied when unable to maintain its position inside SUPER CATCHER which at this time got its head on the side and shifted in away from KID GALAXY when racing tight inside that horse. No action was taken. Making the turn at the 700 Metres, FUN CRUISER became unbalanced after being bumped by MILLENNIUM DAWN which in the middle stages hung out. In the early part of the Straight, NEW CENTURY had some difficulty obtaining clear running when following LAZY BUDDIES, then in the run to the winning post got its head on the side and was reluctant to shift to the outside of LUCKY YEARS. Throughout the race, JUST IN TIME raced wide and without cover. PREMIER BURG was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of PREMIER BURG after the race did not show any significant findings. KID GALAXY, LUCKY YEARS and LAZY BUDDIES were sent for sampling.
