Racing Incident Report
NATURAL ECHO began awkwardly and bumped the outside gate of its stall. VINCERE was slow to begin. Near the 1200 Metres, MAGIC TEMPLE was steadied away from the heels of GLORIOUS RHYTHM which at this time was carried out by FAVOURITE RETURN, got its head up and shifted ground when close to the heels of BULLET TRAIN. Some inconvenience was caused to EUPHORIC KID which was following MAGIC TEMPLE. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, LA MERVEILLE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of KIDDY SING. After the 400 Metres, KIDDY SING, which was racing tight inside AWARD, was steadied away from the heels of EUPHORIC KID. Approaching the 200 Metres, VINCERE, which had been having difficulty obtaining clear running, was shifted to the outside of MAGIC TEMPLE. Near the 150 Metres, VINCERE was checked when crowded for room between RAIN IN SPRING which shifted in slightly and MAGIC TEMPLE which when giving ground shifted out after initially getting its head on the side, shifting in and brushing with FAVOURITE RETURN which at this time shifted out slightly. NATURAL ECHO, which was following VINCERE, was checked to avoid the heels of that horse and shifted out, causing inconvenience to KIDDY SING and EUPHORIC KID which were racing to its outside, causing both horses to be checked. In the circumstances, it was not considered appropriate to take action against any rider. Over the concluding stages, MAGIC TEMPLE was steadied when awkwardly placed inside VINCERE and outside the heels of FAVOURITE RETURN (E Saint-Martin) which shifted out. E Saint-Martin was reprimanded and told in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mount. Because of this, MAGIC TEMPLE was not ridden out to the end of the race as it normally would be. Also over the concluding stages, AWARD hung in. Throughout the race, HONG KONG GEM raced wide and without cover. KIDDY SING was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of KIDDY SING after the race did not show any significant findings. GLORIOUS RHYTHM and RAIN IN SPRING were sent for sampling.
